Whatever the roots, support groups help many patients deal better with their disease. You are encouraged to contact one or more in your area and attend some of their meetings. You may find the help you need; you may be able to help others.

If you don’t find a group you like, start your own. There are still lots of patients out there, alone, and you may find willing helpers at your nearest rehab center, YMCA, or doctor’s office.

I do not know all these folks, personally, and have not researched their credentials, so please understand that I cannot personally recommend any listed organization, even if I were professionally qualified.
